[edit]It went down around or shortly after 16 dec 2008 because I had just setup a new wiki instance and was in the middle of copying the user howtos when it stopped working and then dissapeared. We assumed that since it was a Microsoft IP address they had dropped the site so as not to compete with sharepoint although I stress that this was just a guess based on the timing.

Merge
[edit]- The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
- To merge to History of wikis#Development of wiki software, 2004–2006, the closest current match to the most popular option discussed. Klbrain (talk) 11:55, 18 May 2016 (UTC)
I did quite an extensive search on the web, and came up with several search results. Though PC Pro indeed done a comprehensive review of the software, the other sources actually write about Microsoft open sourcing its product (remember, it was rare event back then?). All in all, it seems that this software fails WP:PRODUCT, as all of its impact was a buzz about Microsoft releasing source code.
Thus I suggest merging this article to either of:
- Microsoft SharePoint § History (describe as predecessor)
- CodePlex § History (describe as pre-existed practice)
- History of wikis § 2004–2006: an explosion in interest (describe as Microsoft's first entry)
Probably picking several options is a good idea. — Dmitrij D. Czarkoff (talk) 11:40, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- I agree with either of the second two, especially the last one - the first one wouldn't really make sense, because FlexWiki doesn't have any real connection to SharePoint. Yaron K. (talk) 13:30, 29 May 2012 (UTC)
