Foundation Date
[edit]There are conflicting dates on the page for the foundation of Licking County. Is it January or March? Krysms (talk) 01:41, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
County name
[edit]The article states that the name is derived from an Indian word for salt licks. So Shawnee just happens to have the same word for "salt lick" as English? This seems unlikely. 66.116.52.104 (talk) 00:38, 16 February 2015 (UTC)
Numbers
[edit]the county has a total area of 687 square miles (1,780 km2), of which 683 square miles (1,770 km2) is land and 5.0 square miles (13 km2) (0.7%) is water The maths isn't right here. 683 and 5 does not sum up to 687, neither does 1770 and 13 sum up to 1780. --Thogo 00:25, 10 October 2015 (UTC)

Opioid and overdose crisis
[edit]Regarding the subsections your group have written for this section, I made some editing about fixing incorrect grammar, verb tenses and adding citations to some of the sentences with statistical data. Firstly, I separated this sentence into two to improve explicitness: "Opioids, which encompass a variety of drugs, are often used for pain relief. However, when Opioids are taken in large doses, it can be fatal to humans." Then, I added citation for these two sentences and the one comes after. I separated this dependent clause into a new sentence with transition: "In contrast, author and professor Jack Shuler attributes the rise in overdose deaths to a rise in fentanyl and its analogues in the drug supply." I fixed the grammar for this sentence by removing the ; and replace with ,: "Local, state, and federal responses to the crisis, increased unemployment, and economic inequalities are affecting this matter in the region." I changed the wording and made this a new sentence: "The risk of death from addiction has grown over the recent years." I changed the wording and made this a new sentence: "Licking County Memorial found out that when focusing on fentanyl related deaths, the number has increased by over 1000% from 2 deaths in 2014 to 21 in 2018." I changed the wording and made this a new sentence: "Annual data from the Licking County overdose fatality review illustrates 72% of overdoses in 2021 were male, while the remaining 28% were female." In addition, I added citations to the statistical sentences I have edited above. Opioid and overdose crisis
[edit]I thoroughly reviewed the subsections on the opioid and overdose crisis, looking for grammatical errors and repetition. I removed or changed anything that fell into those mechanical errors. I made sure the structure made sense and that ideas smoothly transitioned from one to another. Denison24 (talk) 04:08, 12 November 2024 (UTC) [1]
