When Citations Are Needed
[edit]Please do not add Fact[citation needed] notes on "common knowledge" items, i.e., pieces of information that can be easily found in any of thousands of sources. A good example would be the date when the Berlin Wall came down. That was all over the news for weeks, and was a very emotionally charged event (on both sides of the curtain). Half the population of the developed world remembers it, and finding contemporary news coverage is extremely easy, since practically every paper and television studio everywhere covered it. Thus, it is very much common knowledge and asking for a citation is inappropriate. I'm all for citing sources when it's warranted, but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing. --Jonadab
African Union
[edit]Please stop adding the AU template to country articles it was decided that a category would be used instead. - SimonP 02:07, Jun 1, 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comment on my talk page (and I have added a proper welcome message above). I presume you are talking about Mr. Jean Collins Musonda Kalusambo and Mrs. Julienne Mavoungou Makaya, both of which currently redirect to Economic, Social and Cultural Council. If you know enough about them, please write articles on them - unfortunately, I am not in a position to do that for you. If you write articles, they should probably be at Jean Collins Musonda Kalusambo and Julienne Mavoungou Makaya (or even Jean Kalusambo and Julienne Makaya, depending on how they are best known and the convention for first name and family name).
- The redirects were created by User:24.148.76.248 and changed to redirects by User:Gamaliel, so it may be worth talking to them. I hope this helps. -- ALoan (Talk) 09:48, 1 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit]Please don't add blank portal to countries, unless you intend to create these (which seems unlikely considering your systemic insertions). Thanks. El_C 6 July 2005 23:21 (UTC)

Members of the Pan-African Parliament from Tanzania
[edit]Hello! If you're just going to write single sentence micro-stubs, may I suggest writing List of members of the Pan-African Parliament from Tanzania instead of individual entries for everybody? --Scimitar parley 22:31, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
- I agree, but if there isn't enough information, why not just make a list and leave the articles redlinks? That way, when more info becomes available, a full article for each can be made.--Scimitar parley 22:40, 11 August 2005 (UTC)
- When you decide these articles should be removed, list them for deletion in VfD instead of blanking them. Blank articles take up server power, and often, somebody like me will come around and revert. Usrnme h8er 08:18, 12 August 2005 (UTC)

Cologne Centurions
[edit]Why did you alter the Cologne Centurions' record from last season? Their record of 4-6 is easily verifiable. Please don't seed Wikipedia with false information. RADICALBENDER★ 04:17, August 23, 2005 (UTC)
- Well, I'm sorry if the European web site has the record wrong (I can't find a record of this anywhere), but this is all very easily verifiable. Go can go here and manually count up the wins and losses for the Centurions for the season (like I just did) and you'll see their record for 2004 was 4-6. RADICALBENDER★ 04:32, August 23, 2005 (UTC)

African Union officials
[edit]Hey Briaboru--
I've just discovered this wealth of African Union bio stubs you've been putting up. Nice work, and thanks for putting in the hours! I hope you don't mind my tinkering with a few things here and there (it's the English teacher in me), but I wanted to drop a note and say what a great job I think you're doing by filling these in. Best wishes, and happy editing! --Dvyost 04:39, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
- And by the way--I'm on and off Wikipedia right now as my schoolwork permits, but if there's a good way for me to help you out with any of this, let me know!
- Well, no doubt some of these could use expansion, but my philosophy has always been that it's better to have a four-line stub up for people to expand than nothing! The most I'd suggest would be to make sure you add a stub tag to them (Africa-bio-stub is probably the best for this), and try to add them to country categories as well so that editors who work by country can notice and expand them. Most countries have a cat like "Malian politicans" that you can add on--and be sure to add the last name first there for alphabetization reasons. (I've just done this over at Sidibe Korian Sidibe if you want to see what I mean) I think the key is just to get it to where other folks can see it and build--after all, isn't the whole fun of wiki making someone else do your work? =)
- Oh, and though I was technically once inducted into the Fulani ethnic group, I'm as white as white can be myself--don't let it hold you back from doing this good work! --Dvyost 05:08, 26 September 2005 (UTC)
- I just thought of something else that I forgot. You may want to start adding links to whatever databases you're using to create these stubs. Just a brief header "External links" and then the link to the database would be helpful; that way when the next editor comes along she knows where the information so far has come from. Have a good one, and keep on keepin' on, --Dvyost 02:53, 29 September 2005 (UTC)
Category tags
[edit]Hey Briaboru,
Again, nice work on all these new stubs--I can tell you're working your butt off for them. One thing you'll want to be careful of, though, since you're making them in such numbers, is to make sure you get the category tags right. To make sure they get alphabetized properly in say, "Tunisian politicians," it's important to add the name to the tag in the form Last Name, First Name. For example, Joyce Nondwe Kanyago needs to go in as "Kanyago, Joyce Nondwe" (see my edit to her article if you're still not sure what I mean). And don't forget to use the most specific category only--for example, "Tunisian politicians" is a subcategory of "Tunisian people," so you don't want to use both.
Does all this make sense? Let me know if you have any questions. I wish I had time to help you out with more of these but I won't really have the free time for a while--still, I wish you the best of luck! Keep up the good work! --Dvyost 23:24, 4 October 2005 (UTC)
- Hi Briaboru. Regarding your edit to Lawrence Wilkerson, please don't replace valid categories with other categories. Just add them to the pre-existing ones. Thanks, BanyanTree 04:53, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
- Well, remember that it's better to put up, say, eight properly labelled articles than ten improperly labelled ones--I realize the alphabetization is a few moments of extra work per article, but it's important to keep things sorted, too. Otherwise, other editors have to follow behind you doing it, and it gets a bit frustrating.
- I'm not sure what you mean by increase the "number of articles in the Carribbean Community article," but I should warn you that the Carribean isn't really my area of expertise. Is there a particular task you need an admin for?
- Thanks for your continued great work! Keep it up, --Dvyost 02:38, 13 December 2005 (UTC)

Basque diaspora
[edit]if you've read the article closely you'll know that this article talks about Basque people, for which there is an article beyond that the article Basque diaspora is so short it doesn't make sense to me, to keep it as an article in and of itself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Briaboru (talk • contribs) 13 Dec 2005

Request for edit summary
[edit]Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 0% for major edits and 63% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 16 minor edits in the article namespace.)
This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 05:01, 1 March 2006 (UTC)
Ill. Sup. Ct.
[edit]I wanted to thank you for raising the Justice McMorrow thing to my attention. (I suppose in the interest of protocol, it's still appropriate to refer to her as Chief Justice McMorrow, but that's for another day.) I wouldn't have gotten her listed as a previous Chief Justice for quite some time, as I haven't advanced past the D's yet in the court's big list of all past justices. It's weird that they haven't gotten Thomas's biography updated, but I couldn't imagine they'd have left the wrong person as C.J. for almost four years. Yay, press release archives!
Unfortunately, that's too much to fit into an edit summary.

Thanks for your help...I ran into another problem though--and this time, it's with the category section...Wikipedia, for some odd reason, fails to recognize the "Eastern Christianity page" and always takes me to the "No results page"...it won't go directly to the page--it always makes me click on "Do a search for the 'Eastern Christianity' page" before it finally takes me there...
What's with that?

- Hi; your political views are wholly your concern, but listing the countries of the European Union under an article heading of Countries of the African Union still makes no sense.--Anthony.bradbury 19:52, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Eritrea category
[edit]Hey, I noticed that you made some edits under an anonymous IP (24...) in which you added the Eritrea category to some articles. I have reverted your edits because they were actually unnecessary, as those articles were already in the Eritrea category. They were in more specific categories (e.g. Geography of Eritrea was in Category:Geography of Eritrea), which in turn were in the Eritrea Category (e.g. the Geography of Eritrea category is a subset of the Eritrea Category). Proposing stubs types
[edit]Hi - I notice you have added several headers at WP:WSS/P and simply signed them, with no explanation as to the rationale for having the stubs you suggest. It'd be really helpful if you'd give some indication of why you think the stubs are necessary and whether they will reach the threshold as listed at the top of the proposal page. Simply a signed header tells us very little. Grutness...wha? 06:46, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
Eritrean people
[edit]Hi, I noticed you have been editing several Eritrea related articles recently. This is great because, as someone who is constantly adding info on African people and places, I know how little their really is out there. However, it is not helpful to double categorize articles by placing them in both Eritrean people and another Eritra-category, such as singers. A wise administrator once told me this rule and I still applies today. Thanks and keep with adding Africa-based content--Thomas.macmillan 04:05, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Please go ahead and create the article, but it has to have more in it than just an opening sentence. Otherwise, it's simply not terribly helpful and can be deleted immediately. You said this list already existed and suggested its speedy deletion. Based on Wikipedia:Naming policy]] such an article should be located at this title, but more importantly, if you say it already exists and is therefore a duplicate, an admin patrolling CAT:CSD needs a link to the article it supposedly duplicates. What already existing article are you referring to? Short articles
[edit]Your contributions are really welcomed, but they need to be much longer than just an introductory sentence or declarative statement. They can't ever be solely an external link. Hope this helps; I'd hate to see your contributions keep getting deleted for lack of content or context. - Lucky 6.9 17:51, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Right. Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Mary and Joseph will keep getting deleted unless you are willing to put in the effort to explain who this group is and why they are notable, instead of just cutting and pasting from their website. NawlinWiki 17:54, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Catholic cathedrals
[edit]Why should the list be limited to Roman Catholic cathedrals? The article is at List of the Catholic cathedrals of the United States, the title says nothing of the Latin rite, ergo it is not a complete list if it does not include the Eastern Catholic cathedrals. Gentgeen 01:50, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- If you are going to simply delete my work from an article, I'd appriciate it if you would discuss the issue first. Simply renaming the article to suit your purposes and then deleting the content with out discussing it first is rude and unprofessional. I brought the issue up on the article's talk page several days ago, without comment. I added the (in my opinion) perfectly valid and verifiable content to the article. You disagree with it's inclusion. Fine. That does not give you the right to act unilaterally. Gentgeen 03:28, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Regions of the NAIA articles
[edit]Please stop creating Region I of the NAIA (and any Region * of the NAIA articles as well) unless you can explain in the article just what the NAIA is. Right now there is absolutely no context to the lists of universities you have created, and they are liable to be deleted unless you expand them immediately. You may also consider making a single list article Regions of the NAIA and making Region I, Region II, etc redirect to the master list. Regards, Awyong Jeffrey Mordecai Salleh 02:50, 4 October 2006 (UTC)
Roman Catholic bishops
[edit]I'd like to ask you to alter how you are editing the List of the Catholic bishops of the United States page.
For example, in one edit you replaced this:
*Archbishop of Dubuque
with this:
*Jerome Hanus
I think it would be more useful if you were to, instead, replace it with this:
*Jerome Hanus, Archbishop of Dubuque
That way, no information is lost. Also, the page is easier to maintain, because if Bishop retires, his line on the list just becomes false, but if his diocese is mentioned then people can still follow the link there.
Thanks! - Lawrence King 06:48, 5 October 2006 (UTC)

The article Matiya Mulumba has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. // Pilotguy hold short 22:54, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
Notability of Narcisa de Jesus Martillo Moran
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Narcisa de Jesus Martillo Moran, by Improbcat (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Narcisa de Jesus Martillo Moran seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Narcisa de Jesus Martillo Moran, please affix the template hangon to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Narcisa de Jesus Martillo Moran itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 17:53, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
Joyce Nondwe Kanyago
[edit]A "prod" template has been added to the article Joyce Nondwe Kanyago, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Tagging of Graffiti Blasters
[edit]I recently removed a speedy delete tag that you had placed on Graffiti Blasters. I do not think that Graffiti Blasters fits any of the speedy deletion criteria because inaccuracy is not a reason for deletion; I have tagged it as disputed, be you can be WP:BOLD and fix it.. I request that you consider not re-tagging Graffiti Blasters for speedy deletion without discussing the matter on the appropriate talk page. You are, of course, free to tag the article with prod or nominate it at WP:AFD. Carlossuarez46 21:32, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Formatting links
[edit]Hi, do you need help formatting those reference links? The rule is, you use single square brackets around the URL and the string you want to appear in its place, and you use a single space to separate the two. Thus:
- A link to some website
gives:
If you want to do this within "ref" tags, you go:

A tag has been placed on Sisters of Charity of Our Lady of Mercy, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template hangon

Named after Emerson
[edit]Hello! Thanks for putting in the effort in finding sources for that list of places and organizations named after Ralph Waldo Emerson. I'm wondering, though, do you think it would be easier to just say "Several organizations and schools are named after Emerson"? We could rename the section "Legacy" and also talk about his literary/philosophical influence, etc. By the way, I also noticed you have been putting some work into Henry David Thoreau. Is there anything I can help you with over there? He's on my list of 19th century American authors who should have better articles on Wiki. :) --Midnightdreary (talk) 20:24, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
Dominican order
[edit]I'm going to have to go in and undo your recent edits to the Dominican order article. The nuns are not the sisters. The nuns are the second order. The sisters are a specific kind of vowed third order OP's. Your conflation of the two is false and ahistorical.

Hello. I noticed that you tried to nominate this article as a Featured article candidate. Something wasn't quite right in the process, though - the FAC page you edited was from 2005! - so I've reverted two edits of yours while we sort that out. I would be happy to help you put the article up at FAC, but to improve the chances of success, ideally you should contact the article's principle editors (a post on the article talk page is a good start, or you can see the 'top' editors with this link). They could probably provide valuable feedback about the article, and would likely be able to help address any concerns raised during a FAC nomination. Let me know if you need any help. Speedy deletion of Chester P. Smith
[edit]A tag has been placed on Chester P. Smith requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon

Black Catholics
[edit]Hi; I've placed a "speedy delete" tag on Category:Black Catholics because it is re-created material that was recently deleted via a formal deletion discussion. See Wikipedia:Categories_for_discussion/Log/2008_May_22#Category:Black_Catholics. Thanks, Good Ol’factory (talk) 22:21, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
Please stop nominating Syro Malabar Catholic Congress as a speedy deletion candidate. Your requests have been rejected three times now. If you feel that the article does not meet WP's guidelines for inclusion, you may nominate the article for deletion at AfD. This is, however, not a candidate for speedy deletion, and continuing to nominate it as such is disruptive. Karanacs (talk) 17:57, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of National Association of Black Catholic Administrators, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.nabcaonline.org. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 20:30, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Speedy deletion of National Association of Black Catholic Administrators
[edit]A tag has been placed on National Association of Black Catholic Administrators requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding hangon
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Speedy deletion of Charles Uncles
[edit]A tag has been placed on Charles Uncles requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
Removing speedy delete templates
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Charles Uncles, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a hangon tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 04:23, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Black Caucuses edits
[edit]Hello, I notice that you have added wiki links to several of the names in the Missouri and Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus articles. When are added to a name on a page, and that name has no associated article, the name shows up -red- . If it is your intention to start articles on these individuals then I will not undo the links you have created. If not, then I will revert the edits to maintain the consistentcy of the articles. Copyright problems
[edit]Hello. Concerning your contribution, Knights of Marshall, please note that Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images obtained from other web sites or printed material, without the permission of the author(s). This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.marshallans.org/about_us.html. As a copyright violation, Knights of Marshall appears to qualify for deletion under the speedy deletion criteria. Knights of Marshall has been tagged for deletion, and may have been deleted by the time you see this message.
If you believe that the article or image is not a copyright violation, or if you have permission from the copyright holder to release the content freely under the GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) then you should do one of the following:
- If you have permission from the author, leave a message explaining the details at Talk:Knights of Marshall and send an email with the message to "permissions-en (at) wikimedia (dot) org". See Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for instructions.
- If a note on the original website states that re-use is permitted under the GFDL or released into the public domain leave a note at Talk:Knights of Marshall with a link to where we can find that note.
- If you own the copyright to the material: send an e-mail from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en(at)wikimedia(dot)org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation permitting re-use under the GFDL, and note that you have done so on Talk:Knights of Marshall.
However, for textual content, you may simply consider rewriting the content in your own words. Thank you. Phlegm Rooster (talk) 12:46, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Hello, I've removed the list of districts as it made no sense and added a lead line that, as best I can make out, describes the subject and establishes notability. Please correct as needed if I misread something. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 18:44, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

Unsourced categories
[edit]I would like to ask you to please not add categories to articles unless there is a sourced statement in the article that confirms the category. Specifically, I have had to remove a number of additions of "Category:African American Catholics" to articles. The subjects may, in fact, be Catholics, but there needs to be a statement (with a source) in the article to confirm this. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 18:48, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
- I'd like to direct your attention to the articles on Nell Carter and Aaron Freeman. Both these folk are catergorized as Black Jews despite the fact that there is nothing in the article that discusses thier Judaism.--Briaboru (talk) 19:00, 21 July 2008 (UTC)
- And your point is??? I never fail to be surprised when editors use a few bad practices they dig up on Wikipedia to justify their own bad editing. Give me ten minutes and I can find examples of violations of several fundamental Wikipedia policies that, with your logic, would justify anyone violating those policies. Here's the bottom line: The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. That is core Wikipedia policy. If I chose not to follow it, I could go through on all of your articles and change the religion of everyone to Druid. Would that be OK?
- I asked you politely to comply with Wikipedia policy. You can choose to ignore policy. But there are consequences if you do. Thank you. Ward3001 (talk) 19:32, 21 July 2008 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Franciscan Sisters of Mary Immaculate, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:
- No notability asserted
All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. AfD nomination of Madison and Miranda Carabello
[edit]An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Madison and Miranda Carabello. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").
Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Madison and Miranda Carabello. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.
Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 21:42, 24 May 2009 (UTC)
edit summaries
[edit]Please fill out edit summary, not so much as to what you are doing but why you are doing it. This would have helped some in the extensive changes just made to Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. Proposed deletion of Rafael Arnáiz Barón
[edit]The article Rafael Arnáiz Barón has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Biography with no references. If reliable sources can be added within a week, please feel free to remove this tag. Otherwise, there is a risk someone may send it to AfD or mark it for speedy deletion.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing dated prod
will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hellno2 (talk) 01:58, 6 October 2009 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Briaboru! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 35 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the unreferencedBLP tag. Here is the list:

The article on Libyan politician Mohammed El-hadhiri which you created in November 2005 has been tagged as an unreferenced BLP since December 2008, which is the current focus month of the BLP Rescue Project. It's a very short stub asserting that he's a member of the Pan-African Parliament but I can't find any reference to him there, nor any other reliable sources of any kind. This could be due to the spelling of his name - or to a general lack of notability. Would it be possible for you provide a source for this article and update the information? Speedy deletion nomination of Aloysius Ellacuria
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Aloysius Ellacuria, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The article El Hussein Abdel Galil Mohammed has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. [edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at James Franco. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, please seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
Please ensure you are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, and please do not continue to make edits that appear disruptive. Continual disruptive editing may result in loss of editing privileges. Thank you. 4TheWynne(talk)(contribs) 12:41, 3 November 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop adding unreferenced or poorly referenced biographical content, especially if controversial, to articles or any other Wikipedia page, as you did at Bushwick Bill. Content of this nature could be regarded as defamatory and is in violation of Wikipedia policy. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. After the first time I reverted you and asked in my edit summary that you see the talk page, I would've expected a user with you level of experience to.... see the talk page and join the discussion instead of just adding the same false material again. By the time you were done adding the information a second time the source you used had been updated to reflect that he is not in fact dead at this time. Please be more careful in the future when editing BLP articles and please engage in discussion when your edits are questioned. Thanks. Beeblebrox (talk) 18:26, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
- I did a little checking just now and discovered that you have not used a talk page of any kind in 3 years, and haven't used a user talk page, including your own, in 9 years. You may find that this particular strategy may work for a period of time but at some point it won't cut it anymore. Wikipedia is a collaborative project so willingness to communicate is fairy essential. (especially if you are going to add controversial content to a BLP) Beeblebrox (talk) 18:33, 9 June 2019 (UTC)
Hello, I'm Erp. I noticed that you recently removed content from Augustus Tolton without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. List of serial killers from the United States
[edit]I would like to see tables of victims for killers on this list, not all articles for these killers have such a table.
The “victim” sections can and should stay but tables would add a different and i think better visual representation of the victims. Briaboru (talk) 20:50, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

- Kind of surprised that this needs to be explained to someone with 26,000 edits spanning seventeen years, but you should use the article's talk page, not your own, for this sort of discussion. Or use helpme to request help from other editors here. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:53, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
I’m exclusively on my phone now, it’s difficult to find an article’s talk page when using it. Briaboru (talk) 21:03, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- Same issue with your suggestions for the serial killer articles. Very few of us will check User Talk pages like this one. But if you can access & edit an article, then all you need to do is click its "Talk" link near the top left corner, and you'll be on the proper Talk page that the article's active editors regularly watch for comments. Hope this helps. —98.113.162.165 (talk) 05:04, 15 December 2022 (UTC)
