Image Tagging Image:Location1stslovakia.png
[edit]This image may be deleted.
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Location1stslovakia.png. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. cohesion★talk 19:33, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
Where did you get your source for the change you made? Antares' diameter is over 900 million km, not 600 million. — 0918BRIAN • 2006-02-23 19:45
- my astronomy Encyclopædia says it is about 600. True, the book is a bit dated (15 years, hmm, it is older than I thought), but my attention was drawn by differences between Polish and Italian wikipedias and the English one - Polish and Italian both claim 624×10⁶ km. I googled a bit, but I am hitting copies of english wikipedia everywhere so it is difficult to arrive at an authoritative source. And also by 1 E11 m entry. Anyway, English entry says "slightly more than the distance from the Sun to Mars", which is 228×10⁶ km. Huh. Italian wiki says "more or less the diametre of Jupiter's orbit" - which is 1556×10⁶ km. German says 624. Dutch wiki says something like "330 times the diametre of Sun", which would give about 460×10⁶ km. Spanish says "624×10⁶ km, a distance comparable to the distance of Mars' orbit from Sun". So if you have an authoritative up-to-date source, please clean up the mess, at least in the English wiki :-) rado 17:31, 25 February 2006 (UTC)
- nasa.gov says the diameter is about 700 times the Sun's diameter, putting it at over 900 million km. — 0918BRIAN • 2006-02-25 18:23
- That page is from 1998 - anyway, measuring the size from apparent disc resolution is IMHO not very precise, certainly not to 1% uncertainty, as the 9.24 value suggests. Unless a better source appears, I am going to change the value to "over 9×10⁸ km". rado 20:54, 25 February 2006 (UTC)

Galaksija and ZX Spectrum Audio
[edit]Actually you are not correct about the changes you recently made to the article. The only difference in that regard between ZX Spectrum and Galaksija is that ZX Spectrum had a built-in beeper and Galaksija did not have it in plans (one could add it though). Other than that, Spectrum's "MIC" and "EAR" connectors are dual-function cassette+audio ports, just like a single DIN is in Galaksija.
I will try to reword.
--Aleksandar Šušnjar 19:53, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I am not quite sure about the ZX Spectrum (my memory is failing, and I had just a clone), and the EAR and MIC were not equivalent - one of them drove both cassette and audio, one of them drove only cassette (or vice versa?). rado 20:47, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Rado, I chose you because your contributions suggested wide familiarity with Czech - Slovak languages.
I'm a poor and aging scholar from England much concerned with the theory of democracy.
I came across the article below and I think it is of great interest to me, but no one I know speaks the language and I cannot afford professional translation services.
Would you be willing to translate it for me?
In return I can offer very little except to explain how the Impossibility Theorems, with their implied attacks on democracy and rights are... well. in brief, totally wrong.
In the Cold War academics from both sides saw the theorems as having their uses. So 'torn between' as people in your country were, there may well have been some 'uses' of the theorems by foreign academics there at sensitive times. Informovala o tom agentura Reuters.
[TISCALI/ČTK] My email address is idamacintyre@btinternet.com. I live in Leicester in England and I'm in the phone book.
This is an awful lot to ask but can you help?
Best wishes,
Mac, (Dr. I. MacIntyre)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Rgrg! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 5 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Franciszek Kokot - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL
